This letter is to endorse Mark Kamachi who is thankfully running again in Division 1 for Rocky View Council. Mark proved in his last term that he is thoughtful, intelligent and is willing to listen to constituents. In my opinion it would be a blessing if Mark could beat his absent opponent that is being promoted by “Rocky View Backward”.  Have you noticed how many times our present councillor has voted against the majority of Council?

I also agree with Mark’s idea of pressing the Alberta Government to twin Highway 8 and Highway 22 from the traffic circle north to Cochrane. This is a busy and dangerous stretch of Highway that needs to be addressed immediately!

One knock on Mark was that he voted to approve SR1. I challenged him on this and he told me that once the Robinson Family sold out, the Government told Rocky View Council that SR1 was going ahead and that if Council did not give a positive vote, the money that had been promised to them would be pulled off the table. Nothing like having a gun pointed at your head!!!

I believe it would be great to have Mark back on the Rocky View Council! There is always going to be change, and it needs to be directed and managed by competent people like Mark Kamachi and incumbents like Kissel, Kochan and Boehlke.  In the Bragg Creek area, we desperately need Senior Housing, affordable housing for local businesses’ employees and upgrades to the water and septic system to accommodate those that did not get the opportunity to hook in and future growth. These are all issues that I know that Mark will support! If Rocky View Council does not address these changes for future growth our indigenous neighbours will!!!

Sincerely,
Rob Matthews
